Andrew Schouwstra
Co-founder of Against the Grain Outdoors, Andrew is our one of a kind chainsaw carving artist. He is the hands on part of the team! It all started when Andrew stumbled upon a video of someone chainsaw carving on YouTube. A thought crossed his mind where he said to himself maybe I should try that. With work being slower at his usual construction job Andrew decided to pick up his chainsaw and give it a shot and needless to say he was a natural. He is the one that ensures everything is done to a high standard!
Shannon Schouwstra
Creating this small family business with her husband Andrew has been nothing short of amazing! Shannon works closely with Andrew to ensure everyone’s vision is brought to life. Shannon is the person that answers all your questions, takes care of all social media and schedules projects to get done! She is also the one you are more likely to see at the markets!

Cooper is Against the Grain Outdoors number one supporter! He approves of all the spare sticks his pawrents Andrew and Shannon bring around! He loves to greet all the new and existing customers that come to fetch their local pick-ups!
